Mahogany Obsidian

This crystal chick has found herself a new crystal to work with! It is an amazing Root Chakra stone and I wanted to share it with you.

I found it last week at my favorite yoga studio and I was drawn to it immediately. It was calling to me. So I got it – it wasn’t too expensive- and have kept it on my person for the majority of the day and under my pillow at night. When you first get a new stone it’s important that you let it work with your energy for a little while. Most people will notice effects of a crystal’s energy after about 2 weeks, sometimes less.

In this case it was less. I am not normally drawn to root chakra stones, but in this case I do believe the stone was calling to me. Looking back on the week I realize that while I was wearing/ holding the stone I had some cramping in my lower abdomen and believe it was my body utilizing the stone to help clear away that which was not serving me. I have been having very real dreams all week though dreaming is not by any means new to me and most importantly I noticed that the last few days I have not been a complete spaz and have even been rather more productive than usual. Those are my personal experiences with it.

According to

“providing both grounding and protection, Mahogany obsidian brings strength in time of need. it eliminates blockages, relieves tension, and stimulates growth on all levels. Work with this stone when you want to reclaim your power. This is a stone of reflection. it helps us to show us what needs our attention at the moment, while aiding with self confidence and self acceptance. This stone can be used in the decision making process. it allows us to make significant changes in the most challenging areas of our lives.”

I definitely recommend this stone if you wish to work on your root chakra or if you want to work on strengthening yourself.
